Did I enjoy this book? I did! My daughter read it to me, and she loved it. There were a few words that I had to help her with–pangolin, pomelo, and Bismark–but once I helped her with them, she had no problem recognizing and reading them later in the book. The illustrations are adorable, and my daughter recognized the friends’ scarves from a previous book, The Slithery Shakedown! The Nocturnals series is a fun series for your young readers. It teaches about friendship, sharing, and new animals. The fun facts at the end of the book are great too.
Would I recommend it? Yes, I would recommend The Tasty Treat for your early reader. You may need to help with a few words, but your reader will enjoy getting to know the Nocturnals.
About the book – from Goodreads: In The Tasty Treat, Dawn the fox wakes up and goes looking for her friends, Tobin the pangolin and Bismark the sugar glider, to share a tasty treat—a pomelo! Using basic language, emerging readers are introduced to the Nocturnal Brigade.
