My Favorite . . . Book as a Child — July 26, 2017
My Favorite . . . is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it, the world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive.
Each week I will post a new My Favorite . . . post about one subject and I’ll tell you all about it. And the best part? Everyone is welcome to join. The only thing you’ll have to do is sign up on the weekly post, link back to that post, and visit others.
This week’s Favorite is: Book as a Child
The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone and The Boxcar Children Series by Gertrude Chandler Warner
Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Patterson

My daughter loved the Boxcar children. I don’t remember reading them when I was a kid.

I remember my second grade teacher reading the books to us. I loved them!

I had never even heard of The Boxcar Children until I was an adult. We didn’t have those in our library. I loved reading (and rereading each year) the Little House series.

I remember my second grade teacher reading The Boxcar Children to us in class. It was a wonderful book and series. I just bought the first few books for my kids. I’m pretty sure I’ve read a few Little House books, too.

I haven’t heard about any of these books before. I almost feel ashamed!
One of my favorite books as a child was Mathilda, by Roald Dahl! I loved that book, and still do.
Thanks for sharing your favorite and signing up!

I’m a bit ashamed that I haven’t read Mathilda. I should, though. My kids are getting into Roald Dahl books now.
