Blog Tour: My Not So Super Sweet Life by Rachel Harris (review, giveaway)
My Not So Super Sweet Life (My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century #3)
written by Rachel Harris
published by Entangled Teen

Why did I pick this book: I read the first two books in this series — My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century and A Tale of Two Centuries — and loved them. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to participate in the blog tour for My Not So Super Sweet Life hosted by Rockstar Book Tours. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)
Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy this book. I had been waiting for its release for awhile, and I jumped at the chance to participate in the blog tour. I read this book every free chance I had, and I couldn’t put it down.
This was a good addition to the series. I enjoyed finding out what happened to Cat and Less as well as Lucas and Austin. It was fun to see them be “normal” teens. “Normal” until Cat’s mother drops a bomb on national television. I felt bad for Cat, but I could also understand her feelings of wanting to get information from her mother. Wanting to have a relationship with her even though she knew it probably wasn’t possible.
Lucas is a sweetheart. He is a great match for Cat. I was happy she had him in this book.
*** SPOILER-ISH ALERT ***
My one small disappointment was that there was no time travel in this book. I was kind of hoping for some, especially considering who an unexpected person looked like. I mean, come on. Plus, there was the whole thing at the end
*** END OF SPOILER-ISH PART ***
Anyway, this was another wonderful read from Ms. Harris. I truly hope there will be another addition to the My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century series. Please, Rachel. Pretty please!!!!! =D
Would I recommend it: Yes. Read this entire series. I know I will be reading it again soon.
About the book: Cat Crawford just wants to be normal—or at least as normal as a daughter of Hollywood royalty can be. And it looks like fate is granting her wish: she’s got an amazing boyfriend, Lucas; her fabulous cousin, Alessandra, living with her; and her dad planning his second marriage to a great future stepmom. That is, until her prodigal mother reveals on national television that she has something important to tell her daughter…causing a media frenzy.
Lucas Capelli knows his fate is to be with Cat, and he’s worked hard to win her over once and for all. Unfortunately, Lucas has his own issues to deal with, including a scandal that could take him away from the first place he’s truly belonged.
As secrets are revealed, rumors explode, and the world watches, Cat and Lucas discover it’s not fate they have to fight if they want to stay together…this time, it’s their own insecurities.
Well, and the stalkerazzi.
About the author: As a teen, Rachel Harris threw raging parties that shook her parents’ walls and created embarrassing fodder for future YA novels. As an adult, she reads and writes obsessively, rehashes said embarrassing fodder, and dreams up characters who become her own grown up version of imaginary friends.
She grew up in New Orleans, watching soap operas with her grandmother and staying up late sneak reading her mam’s favorite romance novels. Now a Cajun cowgirl living in Houston, she still stays up too late reading her favorite romances, only now, she can do so openly. She firmly believes life’s problems can be solved with a hot, powdered-sugar-coated beignet or a thick slice of king cake, and that screaming at strangers for cheap, plastic beads is acceptable behavior in certain situations.
She homeschools her two beautiful girls and loves watching reality television with her amazing husband. She writes young adult, new adult, and adult Fun, Flirty Escapes, and LOVES talking with readers!

Hi Rachel! I too grew up watching soaps with my maw maw!! Do not disturb when General Hospital, One Life To Live or All My Children was on the TV. If the phone rang, don’t expect an answer!! New Orleans is one of the best cities in the world. I am from the south so I know from whence you came. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent with us and keep on doing what you love!

Thanks so much for your comment, Jeanne! My grandmother’s show was Guiding Light, and I pretty much watched the whole CBS line up for a while. But the funny thing is that I think I was addicted to every soap opera at one point or another, thanks to Soap Opera Digest. A cute new guy would go on a show or a headline caught my eye, and I’d jump ship and start watching that show for a while lol. Is it any surprise I love writing romance? 🙂
