Did I enjoy this book? I hate to admit it, but the internet was right. Book 3 of this series is definitely better than books 1 and 2.

Our heroine has left Adarlan, and the majority of the book takes place with a whole new cast of characters. The introduction of the Fae people is odd. Perhaps this is already a genre that people know about and I’m lacking in my knowledge? If not, the author doesn’t do a great job explaining who the Fae are and what’s so special about them. The relationship between Celeana/Aelin and Rowan is strange as well.

On a positive note, there is much more “cool stuff” that happens in this book. It’s difficult to explain more without giving away too much of the plot.

Would I recommend it? My opinion on this series is pretty consistent. If you want to read it, you won’t be able to put it down. Each book has gotten exponentially better. If you are looking for a quick read or something you don’t need to be vested in, this is not for you. However, now that I’m through book 3, I cannot stop reading them. The story isn’t over. It no longer matters whether or not I WANT to keep reading them–I have to know how the story ends. So if you want to pick up a long book series, go for it.

About the book – from Goodreads: Celaena has survived deadly contests and shattering heartbreak―but at an unspeakable cost. Now, she must travel to a new land to confront her darkest truth . . . a truth about her heritage that could change her life―and her future―forever. Meanwhile, brutal and monstrous forces are gathering on the horizon, intent on enslaving her world. Will Celaena find the strength to not only fight her inner demons, but to take on the evil that is about to be unleashed?

The bestselling series that has captured readers all over the world reaches new heights in this sequel to the New York Timesbest-selling Crown of Midnight. Packed with heart-pounding action, fierce new characters, and swoon-worthy romance, this third book will enthrall readers from start to finish.

I’m glad you enjoyed this one at least. For some reason, I’ve thought the series has gotten worse with each book. I loved book one and I’ve gotten less interested as the series goes on. Thanks for sharing.
