Book Blogger Hop – April 27 – May 3, 3018
About the Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question:
Have you ever thought of writing a respectful, but angry letter to an author to ask them WHY they killed off one of your favorite characters in a novel? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)
No, I haven’t. I may be devastated while reading, but it’s the author’s creation. And usually the author had a reason for killing the character, so who am I to question that? Unless, of course, I am doing a manuscript critique or content edit, then I will question a decision like that to see what the reasoning is behind it and how it affects the story.
Have you? Would you write a letter like that?

Totally agree. I can be upset over a character’s death, sure, but it’s the author’s creation and the characters are the property of the author, at the end of the day, so it’s not my place to demand justification. As an aspiring author, I want to feel as if readers are going to understand that the story will follow how I want it to progress, as you can’t please everybody and trying will just overwhelm you.

Chrissy great response. For my answer I didn’t really think of all that.
