The Sunday Post – October 22, 2017

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Hi, Everyone! I hope you had a good week. Ours was good but busy. (No surprise there, right?) My mother-in-law and I made pepper jelly and fruit jelly this week. I love canning. The kids and I watched Escape from Mr. Lemoncello’s Library this week. It was a cute adaption of Chris Grabenstein’s book. They loved it. My oldest wants to read the book, and my middle thought it was EPIC! I’m currently reading book 3 in the series, Mr. Lemoncello’s Great Library Race. I’m loving it! It’s a fabulous series. Also, I received some great books this week for the Fall Reading Challenge hosted by BookSparks, and some of my subscription boxes arrived. It’s been a great book mail week! 🙂

How was your week? Did you get any new books?

Pepper jelly? What is that? Sounds interesting.

Pepper jelly is really good. It’s like fruit jelly, except made with hot and sweet peppers. I like it with cream cheese on crackers. It’s also good on some seafood, fish, and other meats.

Oh glad to hear that you and your kids enjoy the movie. Pepper jelly? Sounds yummy.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading. 😁❤️

I love pepper jelly! My grandmother used to serve it on cream cheese with crackers and it was my absolute favorite. I need to do it myself this year for Thanksgiving. I’m always looking for appetizers and there’s not much that’s easier than that! I have the Mr. Lemoncello’s Library series on my TBR but haven’t gotten to it yet. I’m hoping to soon though maybe I should get it to read aloud to my son for a beditme book. It sounds like he might enjoy that. Have a great week!

Yes, pepper jelly on cream cheese is my favorite!!! It would be a great appetizer for Thanksgiving. I may have to do that as well.

      Thanks for visiting!

I’d like to try canning someday. I’ve never had pepper jelly, but it sounds interesting.

Nice that your kids had fun with the Lemoncello’s Library movie. It’s great when a movie can get them interesting in reading the book. 🙂

Canning is a lot of fun, especially if you have more than one person helping out.

I love it when movies get the kids into books. =)

My great-grandmother canned up a storm in her lifetime. I don’t think I saw anyone after her do it. My mom doesn’t know how, although I think she tried it once a few years back. It definitely seems like a group effort activity. 🙂
