Book Blogger Hop – August 4 – 10, 2017

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

Do you ever go “way back” to when you first started blogging and look at your old review posts? Do you see any differences from then to now? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I’ve been blogging for almost 6 years. When I started, I used to write my own book synopses. Some of my reviews were more detailed and took longer to write. Now, I still give my impression and review, but sometimes I wonder if my quality is the same. I think it is for the most part. It usually depends on the book and how much time I have to write the review. 😉 I am so very grateful for our followers and visitors. 🙂 The blog has evolved and grown over the years. I’ve grown, and I’m hoping we continue to grow.

I used to keep reading books I hated just so I could write a scathing review. Five years and two kids later, well, ain’t nobody got time for that. I DNF things way more often these days.

If you are a blogger, what do you think of your then and now? If you are a reader of EFC, what do you think of our then and now? Is there anything you’d like to see more of from EFC?

You may have gotten quicker just because you got better at saying what you want to say about a book versus losing quality. Too funny about the sticking to bad books! I’ve gotten better about putting down a book I’m not liking. There are too many great books to waste time on the bad ones.

Definitely not worth reading books you don’t like.

I write as I read and then edit and fix up. Not sure if that’s how I used to do it, but my older reviews were more of a summary which isn’t a good thing.

    Thanks for the answers.

    Happy Hopping!!

I wish I would do that. Sometimes I have a pile of books to review, then the details get lost or fuzzy. I should start writing the review as I’m reading the book.

I also am now writing my own book synopses and I’m thinking of forgoing it since I already use the Goodreads synopses.

Once a year I try and go back to older posts and fix old posts and make them look better. Here is my post: http://www.crossroadreviews.com/2017/08/bookbloggerhop-via-everyfreechance.html

      Thanks for visiting!

Sounds like quite a few of us are less idealistic and more practical with our reviews these days – then again, we learn from each other that DNF is permissible!

DNFs are necessary at times! And I agree, I think we do become more practical the more we blog.

      Thanks for visiting!
