Book Blogger Hop – August 11 – 17, 2017
About the Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question:
Do you participate in readathons and/or reading challenges? (submitted by Kristin @ Lukten av Trykksverte)
I do the Goodreads challenge each year, mainly to keep track of the books that I read in a year. Other than that, I haven’t tried any other challenges or readathons. I’ve checked out a few, but I haven’t committed to any.
I’m currently participating in the Parenting Challenge, which involves finding twenty (hell, ten) (oh, who am I kidding, I’d take two if I could find them) quiet minutes wherein I’ve still got the energy and brain power to read something other than my Facebook feed.
What reading challenges or readathons do you participate in? Which one(s) do you think EFC should try out?

That challenge sounds fantastic. Yesterday I managed almost a whole 10 minutes before I had someone screaming at me because another hoodlum had decided to wash their own water bottle in the bathroom sink… while another removed every article of clothing in their closet from its hanger.

Parenthood does have some crazy challenges when it comes to reading! 😉 It’s never fun when they decide to empty the closet . . . or as my kids did the other day, ALL THE LEGOS all over the floor. Fun.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a good weekend and can fit in some reading time!

Struggling with the parenting challenge as well. I can’t wait until NEXT school year when kid #2 goes to kindergarten. Then I’ll have plenty of time… but just during the school year.

It is nice when they go back to school!
Have a great weekend!

I feel you, Melissa! Sometimes fitting in reading can be a real challenge.
Chrissy, that’s pretty much what I use the Goodreads Challenge for. I don’t even bother setting a high goal. It’s not so much about numbers for me, but I do like to know how much I read each year.
I hope you both have a great weekend!

I don’t set a very high goal either. I just want to know what I read!
Have a great weekend!

I am only able to keep up with the Goodreads Challenge because I set my own goal, and even then, sometimes I forget to log the books I’m reading. 😛

I’ve forgotten, too. It is a good way to keep track though!
Have a great weekend!

Ahh, the good ol’ Parenting Challenge! I’m not a member of this challenge, but I can only imagine how hard that is. As for Goodreads, I’m a member of the yearly challenge, but I can’t get myself to add the recent books and review and stuff lol. I did participate in this year’s BooktubeAThon, which was a lot of fun! Also, this year I’m doing Tome Topple where we read BIG books, but I just end up reading the same books I wanted to, regardless if they follow the rules lol. #rebel 😉

The Parenting Challenge is a good one! LOL Tome Topple sounds like an interesting challenge. I’ll have to check that one out.
Thanks for visiting!
