Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy Sparing the Heart. It was the first book I have read by Ms. Krimmer, and I will be reading more from her in the near future!
Sparing the Heart was sweet, cute, and quick. I liked the story. I especially liked that bowling was the hobby–or pastime–of choice. That’s not something I’ve read before in chick lit. I liked the characters and the way their stories developed. I really felt for Kate and all that she had been through. I have not read the first two books in the Pastime Pursuits series, but I didn’t miss anything. This is definitely a standalone; however, I do want to read the other books!
Would I recommend it: Sure! It was a good read.
About the book – from Goodreads: Realtor and amateur bowler Kate Hayes is the ultimate fixer-upper at this stage in her life. Grieving the death of her father, she moves to a brand new town for a fresh frame. She quickly realizes, however, that location isn’t everything she’s always preached to her clients when she finds herself falling into the same bad habits. To break the cycle, she joins a local bowling league and meets handsome – but taken – meteorologist Kellan Valentine. Will their friendship lead to sunny skies or it is another forecast for disaster?
