Did I enjoy this book:
I did. I read it every free chance I had and finished it in less than a day.

The Revealed is a quick read that will keep you reading until the very end. There is quite a bit of excitement, action, and some unexpected twists.

Lily is turning 19 soon, and The Revealed have already targeted her to become one of the Taken Eighteen. They are getting through all of her parents’ protections, and her father is the presidential candidate. Lily is a target. Kai is the son of Lily’s father’s opposition. They were childhood friends who recently reconnect. Are there sparks? Or is Kai out to get Lily and ruin her father’s chances at being elected? I’m not going to tell you. Read the book.

Look, here’s the thing, I really can’t go into a lot of detail because I don’t want to spoil the book for any of you. The Revealed is a fast read. There isn’t a lot of background information or world building, but there’s enough to let you know what is going on and why the US is the way it is. If you like YA, semi-paranormal, kind of dystopian, with a dash of romance and action, then check out this book.

Would I recommend it: Sure. But be ready to want to read a series. I can’t wait for the next book, The Enraged.

About the book:
Lily Atwood lives in what used to be called Washington, D.C. Her father is one of the most powerful men in the world, having been a vital part of rebuilding and reuniting humanity after the war that killed over five billion people. Now he’s running to be one of its leaders.

But in the rediscovered peace on Earth, a new enemy has risen. They call themselves the Revealed – a powerful underground organization that has been kidnapping 18 year olds across the globe without reservation. No one knows why they are kidnapping these teens, but it’s clear something is different about these people. They can set fires with a snap of their fingers and create a wind strong enough to barrel over a tree with a flick of their wrist. No one has been able to stop them, and they have targeted Lily as their next victim.

But Lily has waited too long to break free from her father’s shadow to let some rebel organization just ruin everything. Not without a fight.

I’m reading this book this summer and can’t wait!

Looks like you enjoyed it and finished it in one day? That’s awesome. I need to figure out how to get these four kids out of mommy’s hair so I can read a bit faster. Right now I read a lot at bedtime and that sometimes slows my pace because I’m super relaxed and enjoy savoring all the words.

Wish I had a week on an island with no one around but a sack of books. Heaven!

I can get some reading done with my three running around. Other times I find myself reading while doing a bunch of other stuff, like folding laundry, cooking dinner, getting ready in the morning, etc. LOL I need to start reading slower to savor the words.

I’m with you — I need a week on an island with a sack of books and my laptop. =)
