Did I enjoy this book? I loved this book! This book has been on my list for a while, but it finally popped up in Kindle Unlimited, so I thought I would give it a try. Full disclosure, I didn’t actually know what this was about before I started reading it. I loved the premise of a woman being the President of the United States and following the lives of her children. The book is about her son, Alex, though we also learn about his sister and the daughter of the VP as well. Throughout the story, Alex learns that he is bi-sexual, and he enters into a relationship with none other than . . . the Prince of England! All the drama ensues. I thought this was a heartwarming story, and I found the characters to all be relatable. I thought the author’s writing style was fantastic; she really captured the speech patterns of the age groups. This was so easy to read. I couldn’t put it down!
Would I recommend it? I loved this book, and I would recommend it. Some parts get pretty steamy, so beware if that really isn’t your preferred genre. But I thought it was a great story, with great characters, and I’m so glad I got to read it.
About the book – from Goodreads: First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations. The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince.
As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you?
