Did I enjoy this book? Let’s be very clear. In my opinion, Colleen Hoover’s books are like pizza–even the “bad” ones are still good. I would never say that this book was bad, it just wasn’t my favorite of Ms. Hoover’s books. My absolute favorite part of this book was the last chapter. It included such amazing information that I had to go back and reread the first few chapters to find the referenced details. Writing like this can only be described as masterful. My chief complaint with this story was the main character, Owen. He clearly had a secret, but instead of coming across as mysterious, he just seems creepy. Everything is cleared up with the final chapter, though.

Would I recommend it? I love all of Colleen Hoover’s books, so of course I would recommend this one. If you’ve never read one of her books, this probably isn’t the first I would recommend, but you won’t be sad that you read it!

About the book – from Goodreads: Auburn Reed is determined to rebuild her shattered life and she has no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to become deeply attracted to the studio’s enigmatic artist, Owen Gentry.

For once, Auburn takes a chance and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is hiding a huge secret. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything Auburn loves most, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it—but can she do it?

Sounds like an interesting read. I haven’t read as much Colleen Hoover books as I’d like. This one is definitely on my TBR.
