Did I enjoy this book? I loved it. I loved being back in Forks. But what I really loved was being in Edward’s head and learning more about him and his family. We learned a lot about Bella too. It was a great perspective. I especially loved the scenes in Phoenix when they were trying to save Bella from James. I always wondered how they got there in time and how they fully explained her “accident.”
Some parts were a bit slow, but once I was about a third of the way through, this book flew. I couldn’t put it down. And I’ll tell you what, I would be thrilled to have the rest of the books from his perspective. Well, maybe his and Jacob’s for the rest of the series. I wouldn’t complain if that happened!
Would I recommend it? If you enjoyed the Twilight Saga, then yes, you should read Midnight Sun.
About the book – from Goodreads: When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella’s side of the story. At last, readers can experience Edward’s version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun.
This unforgettable tale as told through Edward’s eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward’s past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life. How can he justify following his heart if it means leading Bella into danger?
