Did I enjoy this book? I loved every part of this book! I loved the premise of the book, where George Washington decided to accept the proposal to be the King of America. This story follows the trials of his descendants in today’s world. Yes, there are plenty of similarities to Prince William and Prince Harry, but I think that’s more because of the world we live in and not just art copying reality. Each of the characters in this story are surprisingly realistic, from the future queen who feels stifled by her future, to the younger sister who can’t find her place, to the prince who wants to be loved for more than his crown, even the nobles who are willing to do anything to gain favor. I thought this book was excellently executed, and I loved every minute of it.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! If you enjoy YA books, this is for you! If you are intrigued by the idea of what an alternate America would look like, this is for you! If you are looking for something just a little bit different than you normally read, this is for you! This book has great writing, great characters, and a great plot! I can’t wait to read the next installment!

About the book – from Goodreads: What if America had a royal family?

When America won the Revolutionary War, its people offered General George Washington a crown. Two and a half centuries later, the House of Washington still sits on the throne.

As Princess Beatrice gets closer to becoming America’s first queen regnant, the duty she has embraced her entire life suddenly feels stifling.

Nobody cares about the spare except when she’s breaking the rules, so Princess Samantha doesn’t care much about anything, either . . . except the one boy who is distinctly off-limits to her.

And then there’s Samantha’s twin, Prince Jefferson. If he’d been born a generation earlier, he would have stood first in line for the throne, but the new laws of succession make him third. Most of America adores their devastatingly handsome prince . . . but two very different girls are vying to capture his heart.

Happy 2
