Carl’s Review: Dog Man: Brawl of the Wild by Dav Pilkey

Carl is back with a new review! He received this book for Christmas and read it in about a day. He couldn’t wait to share his thoughts with you!

Did I enjoy this book? Yes, I did. I thought it was interesting that Dog Man was arrested for something that he didn’t do but that bad guys did. I couldn’t believe the bad guys sneaked into Dog Man’s house and hid their disguises there. I liked the action in the book.  The characters made me laugh. The illustrations were cool, especially the 3D clay monster because nothing else in the book was 3D. Dog Man made me laugh, especially when he got out of jail. His actions were funny.

Would I recommend it? If a kid asked, I would say yes. If a grown-up asked, I would say no because they probably wouldn’t enjoy it as much, especially because Dog Man barfs on somebody.

About the book – from Goodreads: Is Dog Man bad to the bone? The heroic hound is sent to the pound for a crime he didn’t commit! While his pals work to prove his innocence, Dog Man struggles to find his place among dogs and people. Being a part of both worlds, will he ever fully fit in with one?
