Did I enjoy this book? I enjoyed reading this Nocturnals book with my daughter, and it was one she asked to read over and over again.
The Peculiar Possum taught us that we are all different and that just because we are different doesn’t mean we are peculiar. It was a great message presented in a fun and interesting story. The alliterations were fabulous. The chapters were easy to read for the beginner reader. The illustrations were cute. My daughter also recognized the scarves the animals were wearing from The Slithery Shakedown. (See that review here.) And again, I liked the facts at the end of the book.
Would I recommend it? Yes, and so would my kids! Your beginner reader will enjoy it.
About the book – from Goodreads: In The Peculiar Possum, Tobin, a sweet pangolin, Bismark, a loud-mouthed sugar glider, and Dawn, a serious fox, encounter strange sounds and smells in the valley. When an unfamiliar animal appears, Bismark is not pleased! But soon Bismark and the Brigade learn that being peculiar is also reason to be proud.
Bonus Content includes Fun Facts about The Nocturnals and a glossary of Peculiar Words from different languages.
