Book Blogger Hop – November 16-22, 2018
About the Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question:
Do you take notes about the book you are reading as you read? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)
Not usually, but sometimes. When I first started blogging, I took notes while I read for review purposes. I don’t do that now unless there is something I really want to remember for a review–a quote, event, or character trait for instance. For book club discussions, I will take notes on interesting passages or key points. If I’m leading the book group discussion, I will take quite a few notes . . . Post-its are usually involved.
What about you? Do you take notes as your read?

No notes here, but it’s mostly laziness. I have found that some of my initial thoughts while reading tend to get a bigger reaction from people reading my reviews, so I need to get into that habit because most of the time I’m writing my reviews a week after I read it!

That happens to me too. Sometimes I wait to long to write the review and I lose those initial thoughts. I really should go back to taking more notes! LOL

I love using post it notes when I’m reading! I usually have a notes app going to write down quotes and such.

A notes app is a good idea too!

I should probably invest in some post its for note taking for book club discussions. It’d be a great way to mark the locations in physical books for reference for the question too.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks for visiting!

Taking notes is too distracting. If there’s a quote or something I need to refer back to, I will just jot down the page number.
