My Favorite . . . is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it, the world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive.

This week’s Favorite is: Thing About Being A Reader

I love that I can open a book and escape to a new and/or different world. I also love that I can “watch” the story play out in my mind as I’m reading. And when a book is really good, I love that it will stay with me long after I’ve finished the last page.

All the different worlds you get to visit, and all the different characters you get to meet.

Escaping to a different place! I definitely read to get away. I love that I can pick up a book and jump into someone else’s life for a little while. I can be a lovesick teenager, jump in the middle of a dystopian future, or spend some time in 18th century Scotland. And if that’s not enough, I can pick up another book and get lost in a world that doesn’t even exist, with creatures and people who have magical powers. Books are limitless and I love them!
