My Favorite . . . High School Experience — March 28, 2018

My Favorite . . . is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it, the world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive.

Each week I will post a new My Favorite . . . post about one subject and I’ll tell you all about it. And the best part? Everyone is welcome to join. The only thing you’ll have to do is sign up on the weekly post, link back to that post, and visit others.

This week’s Favorite is: High School Experience

I loved being on the swim team. I was captain my senior year, and I loved swimming 6 days a week. On occasion our coach would have us compete in order to leave practice early. The person who swam the farthest underwater won. My senior year I broke my personal record, and I think a team record, for underwater swimming–more than 75 yards (more than 3 lengths of the pool) without coming up for air.

All things music related. I was in every type of band that my school offered, performed in musical theater on stage and in the pit band, choirs, etc.

What was your favorite high school experience?

We didn’t have a swim team in high school, not that I would have been on it. I was never much for sports, but I was a band geek.

Those sound like some great memories. We didn’t have a sports team, and I was really shy so musicals or performance weren’t really for me.
Thanks for signing up and sharing your favorite.

Two totally cool ladies!! I think my favorite experience was being in colorguard, which I didn’t do until I was a senior. I loved it and I was sad I had kept putting off a friend to do it for those first three years!
