Book Blogger Hop – July 21 – 27, 2017
About the Book Blogger Hop
The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question:
Have you ever read a book or books you would consider ‘toxic’ because of the effect it(they) had on you? If so, which one(s)? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)
I can’t say that I have.
I don’t care for thrillers, especially the creepy serial killer kind. Human depravity just haunts me.
Have you? What was the book?

Agreed on human depravity!! I can handle some thrillers, but nothing terribly graphic.

I’m the same way. I like a lot of thrillers . . . but not graphic ones. Thanks for visiting!

I avoid crime / thrillers because I don’t like them creeping around my head afterwards…

That’s the one downfall for me when I read a good thriller . . . I can’t get the thoughts out of my head!

I LOVE thrillers, but there are some types that are a bit too graphic for me. For example, I had to DNF You by Caroline Kepnes because it centered around a stalker, from the stalkers perspective. So that plus the amount of vulgar text…That was too much for me.

That would be interesting to read it from the stalker’s POV. It would probably creep me out way too much, though.

I don’t do (horror) thrillers either. I do enjoy some crime/mystery/suspense books, but that’s a gray picky area for me.

I don’t do horror. I read one a few years ago and it still creeps me out. Mystery/suspense/psychological thrillers are good reads, but not all of them. 😉
