The Sunday Post – September 25, 2016

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post* is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received, and let you know what is coming up for the week on our blog.

*The Sunday Post was inspired by the Story Siren’s In My Mailbox feature. Kimba wanted it to be about more than a book haul for ARCS and thus created the Sunday Post.

It’s been another busy week. I’ve been editing and reading and doing the stay/work-at-home day-to-day stuff. The kids are in school and so far having a great year. (Yes, I know it’s only September, but they are really enjoying school. So, I count that as a win!) I have successfully made a sourdough starter and I’ve been having fun trying out new recipes to use the discarded starter on. Crackers are the best! I made my first loaf of sourdough bread from this starter yesterday. I can’t wait to try it today! I’m currently reading Wendy Darling–Seas by Colleen Oakes, and I am loving it! Look for my review by the end of the month.

So far this year, we haven’t had any major issues in the classroom either. Here’s to hoping the rest of the year stays in that vein! Have a great week!

It sounds like your week was busy but good 🙂 And that’s great that your kids are enjoying school so far! I’ve never made bread or crackers or anything like that from scratch, but it sounds delicious 🙂 So many people have sweet tooths, but I’ll take bread over sweets any day, haha.

I’m more of a bread person than a sweets person, too! The crackers were surprisingly easy to make. I was happy about that!

Yum I love bread but never had the patience to bake it. If it turns out well, you need to share!

I cheat a little! I have a bread maker. I made the sourdough starter, and that took some time, but the baking of the bread was done by the bread maker! =)

I love to bake, too. I don’t do it all year, but when the weather turns cooler, I start to bake. And cook more. Once spring hits, I’m about done. LOL

Yay to kids enjoying school! Some days mine does, and other days, not so much. Mostly it depends on the time of day. Haha.

I have been wanting to try something by Colleen Oakes. I am glad you are enjoying Wendy Darling–Seas so far!

I hope you have a great week!

I’ve read quite a few of Colleen’s books. I really enjoyed her Elly in Bloom series as well as the Wendy Darling series.

      Thanks for stopping by!
