Did I enjoy this book: I know, I know. It’s not Easter. But listen. If you’ve got a child under the age of, say, four, you’ll be reading this book–repeatedly–no matter when you buy it.
I originally purchased this book because I wanted to expose my kiddo to a secular (commercial?) side of the Easter holiday. He was already in love with the mouse/cookie relationship, so this seemed like a no-brainer. This book has the loveable mouse (and artwork) you’d expect, plus counting and color identification. My only complaint is that the eggs aren’t all exactly the colors they claim to be, but then, you know, no one is. Plus, it’s freaking adorable to hear a toddler yell, “IT’S BUNNY!” the moment before you turn the last page.
Would I recommend it: Listen. You’re going to read this book ten thousand times if you buy it. I guarantee you’ll adore your kiddo’s guess as to who hid the eggs. Go for it.
About the book – from Goodreads: Join Mouse from If You Give a Mouse a Cookie as he tries to figure out who’s leaving Easter eggs all over his house!
