Did I enjoy this book: This is a really fun read! I was completely entertained by it, as was my little reader. My whole family enjoyed watching as the various wild animals found themselves in silly positions while playing soccer. I personally enjoyed the verse. The rhyming is appropriate and not at all cutesy-rhymey-rhymey like some children’s books can be. I was also impressed that the wild animals are not all the standard lions, tigers, and bears fare. As a matter of fact, the silly yet still realistic illustrations led to a couple of discussions about what the tapir is and why it looks like he has a super short elephant trunk! My three-year-old appreciated that all the animals were named in the back of the book so we could Google them to find “real life” pictures!
Would I recommend it: I sure would! It’s a quick, fun little read and I certainly wouldn’t mind reading it over and over (which I have . . .)!
About the book – from Goodreads: On the green two teams are prancing.
Rockets leaping — Cheetahs chancing — Who will win this whirling, twirling, rolling, bouncing soccer game?
