Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Did I enjoy this book: I loved this book. If I had an award to hand out for “best hook in a novel,” Clancy would win the gold medal. The minute I started reading my eyeballs nearly popped out of my head. Traceless keeps the action moving along at a nice pace and crosses the finish line with the momentum of an Olympic sprinter.
If I only judged this story based on its entertainment value, I’d give it five stars easily, but the book had a few problems. First, any tough editor would have rejected the frequent, jarring jumps in point of view. Second, there were too many loose ends and unanswered questions. I finished the book entertained but unsatisfied.
Would I recommend it: Sure. It’s quick, entertaining, and unpredictable.
About the book – from Goodreads: Everyone has something to hide . . . but what secrets are so dark that a man disappears without a trace?
Adam Stoltz vanishes in the middle of the night. His girlfriend, Darcey Ackerman, is the last person to see him alive. Battered, bruised, and petrified, she somehow manages to escape their attacker.
An international police manhunt and investigation ensues, but Adam and the mystery man are traceless.
Intrepid crime reporter, Gina Jones, has made her career out of discovering the hidden truth. She knows that everyone has something to hide, and that someone knows what really happened to Adam.
Slowly, she begins to unravel the threads of the story, but the hidden secrets go far beyond her worst fears or imaginings, especially when nothing is as it seems . . .
Traceless – some people should never be found . . .
