Why did I pick this book: I participated in the blog tour hosted by AToMR Tours. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.) Read my review for Flight – and enter the tour giveaway – here.
Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy this book. I read it every free chance I had…it was hard to put down.
This was a great second book in a series! I enjoyed Focus more than I enjoyed Flight, the first book in The Crescent Chronicles series. I thought Focus was better…more developed, I cared more about the characters and what was happening. Focus is exciting, has a lot of action, and a great love story.
Allie was better in this book. She didn’t annoy me quite as much as she did in Flight. Allie is still strong and handling the knowledge of who, and what, Levi is and about the world she lives in. Levi is still cocky but slightly more endearing in this book. I like him a little bit more. He truly loves Allie, that is evident, and he is trying to make it up to her…tricking her into becoming his mate. (Which is still pretty unforgivable.)
I think Hailey is sweet. I really like her. She is a wonderful friend, and protector, to Allie. And Allie really sticks up for Hailey and her brother, Owen, in front of the king. I also thought Jared was much more likable in Focus. We learn more about him and his family – especially his brother. You can’t help but like him more and more as this story progresses. He really is a good guy.
The end…REALLY?!?!?!?!? Why? How can a book end like that? What a cliffhanger! I was looking for the next page. I kept trying to turn the page on my Kindle…but there was no page to turn to. I CANNOT WAIT TO READ FOUND! I have to know what happens next.
Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book, especially if you read the first book, Flight.
Will I read it again: I will not read this book again but I will most definitely read Found, book #3 of The Crescent Chronicles series.
About the book: Freshman year of college is hard even when you’re not tied to the future king of a supernatural society.
Allie dives into college head first with Hailey as her roommate and the city of New Orleans as her backyard. As things within The Society heat up, Allie realizes that whether she’s with Levi or not, she’s in far too deep to turn back.
About the author: Alyssa Rose Ivy is a Young Adult and New Adult author who loves to weave stories with romance and a southern setting. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write. She lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children, and she can usually be found with a cup of coffee in her hand.
Happy reading wherever you are and whenever you get a free chance!!!
