Why did I pick this book: I participated in the blog tour hosted by Tribute Books(I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)

Did I enjoy this book: For the most part, I did enjoy this book. It was not a book that I had to read every free chance I had until I hit the last quarter of the book which had me glued to my Kindle. There were a lot of twists and turns that kept me interested. And that was an ending that I did not see coming at all!

The characters in Nobody Has To Know were well-written and well-developed. However, some of the characters I just did not like. In particular, I really did not like Cameron or Hayley. Neither of them were very sympathetic despite being the main characters in the book. I did feel a bit for Hayley through out most of the book, up to a point. Samantha, Nikki, and Melanie – the high school girls at the center of this story – each had issues beyond that of the typical high school teen. However, even though I had trouble feeling for these characters, the story still kept me interested and wanting to know what would happen next.

Another thing that made me not love this book was the fact that the story jumped between narrators. Many different background stories about different characters were told in the middle of scenes. This was confusing at times. And I really did not understand the constant flashbacks Cameron had about Maleigha. In my opinion, these flashbacks were not necessary and detracted from the story. I just didn’t see the significance or purpose. To me, it seemed like he was just obsessing over this person from his distant past.

Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book.

Will I read it again: I will not.

About the book:
Nobody Has To Know, Frank Nappi’s dark and daring new thriller, tells the story of Cameron Baldridge, a popular high school teacher whose relationship with one of his students leads him down an unfortunate and self-destructive path. Stalked through text-messages, Baldridge fights for his life against a terrifying extortion plot and the forces that threaten to expose him.

Nobody Has To Know is a sobering look into a world of secrets, lies, and shocking revelations, and will leave the reader wondering many things, including whether or not you can ever really know the person you love.

About the author: Frank Nappi has taught high school English and Creative Writing for over twenty years. His debut novel, Echoes From The Infantry, received national attention, including MWSA’s silver medal for outstanding fiction. His follow-up novel, The Legend of Mickey Tussler, garnered rave reviews as well, including a movie adaptation of the touching story “A Mile in His Shoes” starring Dean Cain and Luke Schroder. Frank continues to produce quality work, including Sophomore Campaign, the intriguing sequel to the much heralded original story, and is presently at work on a third installment of the unique series. Frank lives on Long Island with his wife Julia and their two sons, Nicholas and Anthony.

P.S. For early December, Frank is donating all of the proceeds from the sale of ‘Nobody Has to Know’ to support recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy. His own community where he teaches high school English, Oceanside, was devastated by the storm.
