GIVEAWAY! Blog Tour: Swipe by Evan Angler
Swipe
written by Evan Angler
published by Thomas Nelson
check it out here: Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Goodreads
Why did I pick this book: I was lucky enough to be able to participate in this awesome blog tour organized by YA Bound. (I was provided with a copy of this book for review purposes.)
Did I enjoy this book: I really did. I read this book every free chance I had and finished it in short order. And I cannot wait until the sequel comes out in the fall!!! What a cliffhanger!!!
Swipe kept me interested from the very first page to the very last. It was a fast read with a lot of suspense and second guessing. Some parts I thought I had figured out, only to find out that I didn’t have a clue. It didn’t end the way I thought it would and now I have to wait until the fall to see what happens next!
The author, Evan Angler, crafted a world that was very clear. A world that – scarily enough – one can see appearing in the future. That in and of itself is rather frightening and made this book that much more engrossing.
Logan was a great lead character. I felt for him. I felt his paranoia, his grief over losing his sister, his loneliness in trying to be “normal” despite his constant paranoia, his hope and his despair. He was only 12 years old…almost 13…but he didn’t feel like a child yet not like an adult either. He was written so well. Erin was a good counter character to Logan. She seemed a bit more “worldly” and mature than Logan but was she really? Or was she just another Marked being that pledged herself to the American Union? I know the answer…or at least part of it. You need to read the book to find out for yourself!
Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book, especially if you enjoy dystopian society reads.
Will I read it again: I will not read it again but I will read book two in this series, Sneak, due out this fall. (I can’t wait!)
About the book – from Goodreads: Logan Langley is just months away from his thirteenth birthday and the biggest day of his life – the day he will finally be Marked. The Mark lets people get jobs, vote, and even go out to eat or buy concert tickets.
Becoming Marked means becoming free. Or so he is told. Five years ago when Logan’s sister went to get her Mark she never came back. Now Logan can’t shake the feeling he’s being watched…
And then he finds the wire.
And now for the awesome GIVEAWAY!!!! Fill out the Rafflecopter form below for your chance to win a paperback copy of Swipe.
