Why did I pick this book: I participated in the blog tour for Kiss Me, The Keatyn Chronicles #2, hosted by AToMR Tours. I chose to read book #1, Stalk Me, because I hadn’t read it yet. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)
Did I enjoy this book: This book was alright. It kept me interested and reading but it took awhile to get through.
Like I said, Stalk Me kept me interested enough to see what would happen next and how this story would end. I do want to see what happens next as well. I will be reading Kiss Me. There were some exciting parts, some parts that made me smile, some that had me laughing, even a few *SQUEEEEE* moments.
However, there were also parts that had me shaking my head in disbelief. I cannot imagine a 16 year old getting served alcohol at hotels, bars, pretty much anywhere. I cannot imagine a parent allowing their 16 year old to basically live on her own, stay out to all hours, sleep over at boys’ houses. I grew up very differently. That was hard to wrap my head around.
With that being said, I liked the characters. Keatyn was funny, different, she really tried to be a good person. Did she get caught up with the wrong friends sometimes? Yes. Did she make bad choices? Yes. Did she stand up to her friends? Yes. Did she listen to her instincts? On occasion, yes. She was a typical 16 year old girl…with a few exceptions (those mentioned above). Brooklyn seemed like a good guy. I think he used Keatyn but he’s young, too. (Not that that is an excuse, but it does account for some of his behavior.)
Sander ended up how I thought he would. He seemed like a sweet boy. Cush was adorable. A player? Yes. But adorable. Vincent…ew. I didn’t like him from the moment I met him. Keatyn’s mom and step-dad were there but not really.
Would I recommend it: If you like contemporary YA books, as well as light reads, then I would recommend this book.
Will I read it again: I will not. However, I will read Kiss Me, book #2 on the Keatyn Chronicles.
About the book: Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by That Boy author, Jillian Dodd.
Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.
She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.
Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.
To add to the drama, her movie star mom’s long-time fan has turned stalker.
An older man is flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating a guy like him would mean committing social suicide.
So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there’s someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
About the author: Jillian Dodd grew up on a farm in Nebraska, where she developed a love for Midwestern boys and Nebraska football. She has drank from a keg in a cornfield, attended the University of Nebraska, got to pass her candle, and did have a boy ask her to marry him in a bar. She met her own prince in college, and they have two amazing children, a Maltese named Sugar Bear, and two Labrador puppies named Camber Lacy and Cali Lucy.
She is the author of the That Boy trilogy and The Keatyn Chronicles series.Find Ms. Dodd here: web, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads

About the book: I’ve always written scripts for my perfect life.
But no way could I have ever scripted this.
My life is so far from perfect, it’s not even funny.
All because of a stalker.
I’m at a boarding school where I have to lie about who I am.
I can’t see my family.
I’m tutoring a hottie god that tortures me with his smile.
The most popular girl already hates me.
But there’s this boy.
This hot, sweet, sexy boy.
So I’m going to stop trying to script my life and just live it.
Because who knows how long I have left.

This sounds pretty interesting to me and the parts that seemed to bother you, I don’t really think would bother me (it didn’t bother me in Gossip Girl or any CW TV show…), so I think this is worth a shot for me. Thanks for the heads up.

It was a good read. I’ve never seen Gossip Girl, although I do want to, however, this just isn’t a world I grew up in…so, that’s part of why I found it unbelievable. I enjoyed the story though. Stop back and let me know how you like it when you read it.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
