The Sunday Post – September 17, 2017

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

~this meme was inspired in part by ~ In My Mailbox~

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

It’s been another busy week here. My mother-in-law and I made and canned 12 jars of apple butter. One is almost gone. I also found a new sourdough bread recipe that I really like. I’ll be making more of that this week. The kids are back in the groove of school and activities, which is nice.

I finished Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker a few nights ago. I actually stayed up late to finish it! It’s been a while since I’ve done that. I’m currently reading The Cottingley Secret by Hazel Gaynor, Playing Defense by Aven Ellis (I LOVE her books!), and a few other books. What are you reading this week?

The Sunday Post – September 10, 2017

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

It’s been a busy, but fun, week. Yesterday, I took the kids to the local apple orchard. They played, we bought a bunch of apples and other produce, and I’m going to make apple butter this week. I can’t wait!!! The kids are excited, too. They love fruits and veggies, and they love apple butter. I didn’t bake this past week, but I do want to try sourdough English muffins this week. Other than that, everything is about the same–run the kids to school and activities, edit, and read. It works. 🙂

How was your week? Also, do you like more than one post a day (a review post and a discussion post or Boost It Tuesday), or do you prefer only one post a day?

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Blog Life: It’s been quite a while since we’ve participated in The Sunday Post. I’ve really missed it, but I have been reading a lot of the other Posts each Sunday. Everything has been going really well here at EFC. I finally got a new laptop that works! That means I can start trediting (editing while walking on the treadmill) again. I’ve really missed doing that. EFC Services has been busy. I truly love my job! And I seriously geeked out over my new copy (17th edition) of The Chicago Manual of Style. Every Free Chance Books is going strong. We have been reading some great books, and I know we have even more fabulous reads coming up. Stayed tuned for more reviews from all of us.

Home Life: The kids are back in school, and we are readjusting to that routine. The weather is getting cooler, which I love. I’ve been baking a lot of sourdough crackers–rosemary wheat and pretzel–sourdough muffins, and sourdough cookie bars. Are you a sourdough fan? Do you have any favorite sourdough recipes you’d like to share?

The Sunday Post

The Sunday Post* is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba at Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received, and let you know what is coming up for the week on our blog.

*The Sunday Post was inspired by the Story Siren’s In My Mailbox feature. Kimba wanted it to be about more than a book haul for ARCS and thus created the Sunday Post.

It’s been another busy week. I’ve been editing and reading and doing the stay/work-at-home day-to-day stuff. The kids are in school and so far having a great year. (Yes, I know it’s only September, but they are really enjoying school. So, I count that as a win!) I have successfully made a sourdough starter and I’ve been having fun trying out new recipes to use the discarded starter on. Crackers are the best! I made my first loaf of sourdough bread from this starter yesterday. I can’t wait to try it today! I’m currently reading Wendy Darling–Seas by Colleen Oakes, and I am loving it! Look for my review by the end of the month.

“I recently hired EFC Services for a final proofread of my book A Mother’s Choice. Even though the manuscript had been edited and read numerous times, Chrissy found several errors and typos previously missed. I was pleased by EFC’s quick and efficient turnaround as well as their reasonable prices. I definitely recommend EFC and will be using them for future editing needs.”

It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

This past Friday, I, along with a few members of my book club, had the chance to meet an author, Brock Booher, whose book, Healing Stone, we read a few months ago. Mr. Booher also wrote a guest post for EFC, and I recently worked with him on his next book by doing a manuscript critique. I can’t wait to read the final version. Anyway, we had such a great time chatting with Mr. Booher, hearing about his experiences, chatting about his book, and laughing quite a bit. It was an awesome experience. Here is a picture of us with Mr. Booher.

We would also like to thank everyone for entering our Blogoversary giveaway and for all of you well wishes and comments! You guys are the best!! =) I will be choosing the winners of our Blogoversary giveaway later today.
