My Favorite . . . is a weekly meme hosted by Maureen’s Books. In this meme we share every week something we love with each other. Because let’s face it, the world can be a dark place and it’s time to share something positive.

Each week I will post a new My Favorite . . . post about one subject and I’ll tell you all about it. And the best part? Everyone is welcome to join. The only thing you’ll have to do is sign up on the weekly post, link back to that post, and visit others.

Book Blogger Hop – June 23, 2017

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

If you are at a really good point in a book and the phone rings or the door bell rings, do you stop reading or let the phone or door bell go unanswered? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

As much I would love to ignore the outside world and just read, I would definitely answer a door bell and check caller ID and answer if I had to.

I loathe both talking on the phone AND answering the door . . . I’d likely ignore them even if I wasn’t reading.

What about you? Do you put down your book?

This week’s question:

How do you organize your blog in terms of what is in your side bar? Do you have categories and defined sections in your side bar? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I didn’t have a set plan. I wanted my search and find/follow links up at the top of the sidebar. Everything else just went in as I saw fit based on priority of visibility.

I do whatever Chrissy tells me to. 🙂

If you have a blog, how do you organize your side bar?

I don’t read many thrillers, but a recent one that I couldn’t put down was Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris.

House of Leaves. Does that count as a Thriller?

This week’s question:

If you could have lunch with any living authors and/or book bloggers, who would you choose and why? (submitted by Kitty @ Vicarious Bookworm)

I would love to have lunch with all the authors I have worked with through EFC Services, LLC. I think it would be so much fun to sit down with them and chat.

Neil Gaiman. He writes AMAZING books, plus he knows Tori Amos, whom I adore. And as if THAT wasn’t enough, he’s writes for Dr. Who as well! The dude has it ALL!

Who would you like to have lunch with?

This week’s question:

Do your bookshelves have books ONLY or do you also have bookish items on the shelves? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

My bookshelves contain books, Funko Pops, pictures, and collectibles. My husband is currently building me new, 8-foot tall bookshelves. I can’t wait!

So you know those GIANT five-cube long shelving units Ikea has? Yeah. We have two of them, plus another two 4-cube shelves. They’re all filled with books. ALL. We have several copies of the same book, too–a copy for me, one for my husband, one for the kids, and occasionally one that’s too awesome to actually read and must sit majestically on the shelf reveling in its bookish awesomeness. Um. But the point about the Ikea cubes is this: they’re deep enough for a row of books AND a bit of bookish bric-a-brac in front! Thanks, Ikea!

What about you? Are your bookshelves for books only or do you have other things on the shelves?
