Book Blogger Hop – April 6 – 12, 2018

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

Do you overextend yourself with too many reviews because you can’t pass up a book in hopes you will get them all done or do you carefully plan and be sure you can fulfill the deadlines for all the promised reviews? (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

I do my best to hit the deadlines or release dates with at least a spotlight of the book if I’m not done reading it.

A spotlight is a good idea if can’t make the publication date.

I do that at times when I know I won’t be able to read the book.

    Thanks for sharing.

It’s a good idea to do a spotlight if you haven’t finished reading. In the past I’ve emailed the tour host if I’m behind as well, and often they are cool with posting that or an author interview or something instead of a review.

I try my best to stay on top of things as well. A few times though I’ve gotten pretty far behind thanks to reading slumps or general life events.

Spotlighting a book is a great idea! Staying on top of things can get tricky so it’s good to have a plan B! Hope you have a great weekend!

I know what you mean! I get a lot of book review requests at the moment as I’ve started putting myself out in the community more and I always feel I have to accept them, but I try to make sure I meet all the provided deadlines. Sometimes it gets overwhelming though.

I also posted a more indepth response on my blog, so feel free to check it out if you wish to! 🙂

I should try to get more organized to at least try to spotlight books on release day if I can’t have reviews posted exactly on time. Something to strive for. Thanks for the idea. Have a great week.

All you can do is your best. It’s easier to hit the deadlines when you learn your limits. 🙂
