Did I enjoy this book? Book 2 of the Outlander series does not disappoint! Claire and Jamie have decided that they are going to try to stop the doomed Scottish uprising. They travel to Paris to try to poison the uprising before it can start. When they realize their plan isn’t working, they go home to Scotland–only to end up right in the middle of the battle! If you loved the descriptions of 1743 Scotland in the first book, you will find the descriptions of Paris equally amazing. The characters are spot-on, and the plot is well developed. I’m honestly running out of superlative words to use!

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! Technically, you could read book 1 in this series and be done. The first book ends with a lead-in to the second book, but you don’t HAVE to read it if you don’t want to. Book 2 is just as amazing as book 1 for all the same reasons. You should absolutely read book 2!

About the book – from Goodreads: From the author of Outlander…a magnificent epic that once again sweeps us back in time to the drama and passion of 18th-century Scotland…

For twenty years Claire Randall has kept her secrets. But now she is returning with her grown daughter to Scotland’s majestic mist-shrouded hills. Here Claire plans to reveal a truth as stunning as the events that gave it birth: about the mystery of an ancient circle of standing stones about a love that transcends the boundaries of time …and about James Fraser, a Scottish warrior whose gallantry once drew a young Claire from the security of her century to the dangers of his…

Now a legacy of blood and desire will test her beautiful copper-haired daughter, Brianna, as Claire’s spellbinding journey of self-discovery continues in the intrigue-ridden Paris court of Charles Stuart in a race to thwart a doomed Highlands uprising …and in a desperate fight to save both the child and the man she loves…

I really need to get around to reading the Outlander series. I must get the first book read this year. I want to see what all the fuss is about.

I know a lot of people rate this series really highly. Historical fiction isn’t my normal genre but this sounds really goo, maybe I should give it a try.

I love this series, and was VERY hesitant to read it because of how big the darn thing is…But, I am SUPER glad I did. I am now on the 7th in the series and I am sad about that…They are almost over…But, I believe she is working on the 9th now. So I still have the next two yet to come. They were all great books!

I don’t know why I haven’t read this series. I watched Outlander season one and loved it!
