Book Blogger Hop – February 23 – March 1, 2018

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

Do you read hardcovers with the dust jacket on or off? Why or why not?  (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)

I usually read hardcovers with the dust jacket on. They don’t bother me or get in my way, and sometimes the flap is a good bookmark if I don’t have one handy.

What about you? Do you take the dust jacket off or leave it on?

I leave the dust jacket on when I read hardcover books!

I remove the jacket so it doesn’t get damaged, but they would be good for a bookmark.

Thanks for sharing and joining in the hop.

I have seen a couple people like you who say that it doesn’t bother them! I need to figure out what kind of reading secrets you guys are holding because the sliding and the book cover sometimes drives me insane hahaha. Have a great weekend! 🙂

I never really thought about it. I don’t find it sliding all the time. I’ll have to pay attention to how I hold the book next time. =)

      Have a great week!

I keep them on too, but I never thought of using them as bookmarks. Good tip!

I’m the opposite. I have to take the dust jacket off. It just seems to always wreak havoc.

Hi thanks for stopping by my BBH 😀
And you’ve already know what I do with the cover 😀 I take it off… I’m too OCD with books to damage it heehee 😀

If the DJ sliding around doesn’t bother you, then go for it! Me, I can’t stand that! Lol. Besides, I don’t want any edge wear on it, especially on the bottom edge. I’m WAY picky with my books! Actually, I’m OCD with them, as Barbara says! 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thanks for commenting on my own BBH post!! Sorry for the late comment back….. 🙁 <3 <3 <3

Yes, sometimes the bottom edges do get bent a bit. But it doesn’t bother me. I guess I’m just not that picky. 😉

      Have a great week!
