Book Blogger Hop – July 28 – August 3, 2017

About the Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop was originally created by Jennifer from Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and ended on December 31, 2012. With Jennifer’s permission, Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer relaunched the meme on February 15, 2013.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question:

Do you read tie-in novels to movies or television series? If so, which ones? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

If we are referring to novels with new covers that match the movies or TV shows instead of the book’s original cover, then yes, I believe I have. I can’t tell you off the top of my head which ones, though.

Is that like fanfic? So, I guess, no. lol.

What about you? What tie-in novels have you read?

Several – The Longmire series, Monk, Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, The Lincoln Lawyer, several cozy series (Aurora Teagarden/Charlaine Harris, Fixer Upper/Kate Carlisle, Flower Shop/Kate Collins, Garage Sale/Sherry Harris, Murder She Baked/Joanne Fluke) that now have film versions on Hallmark mysteries and movies, Nero Wolfe series by Rex Stout, Perry Mason, Kathy Reichs’ Bones series, Robert Parker’s Jesse Stone and Spenser books, James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club and Alex Cross books, PBS series – Grantchester, Morse, Sherlock, Midsomer Murders, Poirot, Miss Marple, Tommy and Tuppence, Rebus (Ian Rankin), Inspector Lynley, Brother Cadfael, Inspector Banks, Campion, Lord Peter Wimsey, Jeeves and Wooster (P. G. Wodehouse), Ann Cleeves’ books, etc. In most cases, I had read the books first. I actually watched the Longmire TV series, before I realized that it was based on a book series. I began reading that series after watching it. In most cases, I like the books better. But some TV/movie versions do a great job. And I am sure there are many, many more.

Hahaha. I named like three different fanfics that I’ve read in my blog hop that tie into books.
    Happy Friday!

I haven’t read any but it’s more because nothing has appealed to me so far than a mindset.

I have been watching some of the Hallmark movies based on books such as Joanne Fluke’s Murder She Baked; Kate Carlisle’s Fixed Upper and Charlaine Harris”s Aurora Teegarden. I also watched Jesse Stone and Spenser that were based on the Robert Parker books.

Murder She Wrote was a tie-in? … I think I misunderstood the question, maybe. I think I am thinking more of books (or movies or shows) that were spin-offs from another one.
