Where I stopped reading: About a third of the way through
Why I stopped reading: I was unimpressed, and I realized I was only reading so I could say I’d read “all the Harry Potter books.” I’m a fangirl, but I’m not fangirl enough to keep reading a mediocre book.
What others have rated this book: According to Goodreads, the average rating for this book is 3.88 stars. It looks like a majority of readers gave this book 4 stars. Amazon’s reviews averaged 3.6 stars. At Barnes & Noble, the majority of the reviews were 3 stars. Just because I didn’t finish this book doesn’t mean you won’t.

I checked it out from the library and was very happy I didn’t waste my money on this book. I read it–it was really short–and found it to be just okay.

I wanted to stop reading after the first scene, but I stuck it out, and it never got better. I gave it 2 stars. I was blown away by all of the 4 and 5 star ratings. I think people were just excited to read more Harry. But it wasn’t Harry. It was awful.

I agree . . . it wasn’t the Harry we know and love. I really hope Fantastic Beasts is better!
