Did I enjoy this book:
Yes!

In fact, I couldn’t put the book down. Every spare moment I had (I have 2 kids on summer break and an 18-month old!) was spent reading this book. Jet and Maura (Jetaura) will keep you flipping pages just so you can see what crazy thing is going to happen next. As usual with Brea Brown’s books, the second string (see what I did there?) characters are just as appealing and amusing as the main characters. Even Rae, Maura’s unlikeable best friend, kept me reading. Every time she entered the pages, she made me angry, but she was part of their story. Colin, Maura’s British client, had me in stitches most of the time—I loved how he kept comparing American football with European football and especially how he kept mixing up the lingo.

Now, I’m a die-hard Patriots fan (I know, I know), and I love football. I plant my bootie on the couch every Sunday, Monday, and Thursday (and I picket for a longer season every year!). I know the stats for my players (and a few others I’m in love with), I watch any game I can get on my television (even the teams I’m not overly fond of), and I generally annoy my husband with yelling and boos and cheers (he’s not exactly the sporty type) from September through February. I loved this book! I loved the premise, I loved the inside information, and I loved learning a few things I didn’t know! This books rocks—especially coming from the football angle. Really, girlfriends/wives sign a confidentiality statement? Whether that was a true fact or not, it’s neat and it adds flavor to an already spicy story.

I’m really looking forward to the second book in the series and of course the third, too. If you love football, love romance—the kind where the hot, rich QB picks the girl-next-door . . . then this book is definitely up your alley!

5 stars
Would I recommend it? Yes! I can’t wait for the next book in the series to come out!

About the book – from Goodreads: Maura Richards has a plan for her life—it involves not having a plan. From biding her time at a long-term temp job to ending relationships before they get too serious, Maura’s only commitment is to being noncommittal.

When she meets Jet Knox, the starting quarterback of her beloved hometown football team, she dismisses their encounter as a thrilling brush with celebrity she can drag out at parties for a few years, and nothing more. Jet has other ideas. He’s someone who’s made a living setting—and scoring—goals. Wooing Maura is his latest objective.

Everyone in Maura’s life seems to have an opinion on her relationship with the All-Pro QB, but with so many swirling opinions, rumors, and doubts, Maura must rely on the judgment of the very last person she feels she can trust: herself.
