Why did I pick this book: I participated in the blog tour hosted by CBB Book Promotions(I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)

Did I enjoy this book:
This was a fun read. I enjoyed the second half more than the first half. It took a bit longer than I thought it should to get through, but that may have been me.

I like fluffy, light, fun reads. Must Love Otters hit the spot for the most part. Hollie was a character you could get behind. I felt bad for her, but I also wanted to shake her a bit. I wanted to tell her to get out of her relationship with Keith, to leave that crappy job he hated, to do something she wanted to do. She’s young, not tied down, now’s the time to do something!

So, needless to say, I cheered when she finally took the weekend trip to Revelation Cove. She had quite the adventure there. I liked Concierge Ryan. He was a genuine guy, and a good counter to Hollie. Her clumsiness gave me a few laughs. Her overnight on the boat with the whales, otters, and the guy made me smile. Her episode with the cougar had me gasping.

All-in-all, a good read, somewhat predictable, but good nonetheless.

Would I recommend it: Sure! It’s a fun, light read.

Will I read it again: I will not.

About the book:
Hollie Porter is the chairwoman of Generation Disillusioned: at twenty-five years old, she’s saddled with a job she hates, a boyfriend who’s all wrong for her, and a vexing inability to say no. She’s already near her breaking point, so when one caller too many kicks the bucket during Hollie’s 911 shift, she cashes in the Sweethearts’ Spa & Stay gift certificate from her dad and heads to Revelation Cove, British Columbia. One caveat: she’s going solo. Any sweethearts will have to be found on site.

Hollie hopes to find her beloved otters in the wilds of the Great White North, but instead she’s providing comic relief for staff and guests alike. Even Concierge Ryan, a former NHL star with bad knees and broken dreams, can’t stop her from stumbling from one (mis)adventure to another. Just when Hollie starts to think that a change of venue doesn’t mean a change in circumstances, the island works its charm and she starts to think she might have found the rejuvenation she so desperately desires. But then an uninvited guest crashes the party, forcing her to step out of the discomfort zone where she dwells and save the day … and maybe even herself in the process.

Because otters are ADORABLE (and very similar to cats–we’re cat people around these parts); they’re a threatened species, so giving them a little extra attention is always a positive; and because we have otters up here in BC and north into Alaska, so it wouldn’t be unreasonable for someone from the Pacific Northwest to have a crush on their beautiful, furry faces! If you ever make it up to Vancouver, stop by the Vancouver Aquarium and meet our resident otters: Elfin, Wally, Tanu, and Katmai. They’ll melt your heart. Thanks for the question! 🙂

I really enjoyed this one! It was a load of fun and something light to take my mind off the heavy stuff going on (and the heavier books). Thanks for hosting a tour stop!

It was fun. I loved the scene with the whales. You knew what was coming, but unsure, and it made me smile. Plus, that would have been awesome!

Otters are too cute, they’re my favorite animal to see when I go to my zoo. Thanks for the giveaway!
