Why did I pick this book: I read the first book in the series, Warpworld. (See my review here.) When the authors asked if I would like a copy of Wasteland Renegades, I couldn’t say no. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes from the authors and Tribute Books.)

Did I enjoy this book:
Listen.  It’s Christmastime, so as is Everyone, I’m swamped.  If you must know, I’m also sick, which means I’ve been letting my son watch entirely too much television while I half-heartedly attempt to accomplish everything on my to-do list.  The good news is… the other half of my heart has been busy reading the second installment of Warpworld, and – yeah, it’s just as good as the first one.

At 530 pages, Book 2 is a bit more of an investment than the first Warpworld, and rightly so.  Seg and Ama morphed from a Speed-style “Keanu-and-Sandra relationship” to a “This is how Love works in the real world” coupling, and though initially I was annoyed at their discord, I ended up both loving and relating to it.

Yeah, the book had a bit of a slow start, and yeah, there was a bit too much politicking and soldier-training, but in the end, well.  Perron & Simpson win again.  Read on, Warpworld lovers.  Read on.

Would I recommend it: Yup.  If you liked the first book you’ll like this one.  Read up, friends!

Will I read it again: I almost literally inhaled the sneak preview from the next book in the series, so it’s safe to say I won’t be abandoning The World any time soon.

About the book – from Goodreads:
This time, survival is not enough

With a handful of warriors and a few loyal misfits, Seg Eraranat launches a desperate bid to save his dying planet. But the world’s rulers have their own plans and he is forced to choose between the people he has sworn to save and the woman he loves, Ama Kalder.

She is an Outer, and cannot abide his world’s cruel customs. Her rebellion pits her against a powerful enemy who will enslave her at any cost.

Torn apart by enemies and allies, targeted by a ruthless leader, and thrust onto the bleeding edge of a planet on the brink of all-out war, Eraranat and Kalder risk everything in one final battle for the world and the future of its people.
