“At this rate, you’re going to end up staying the night with me at camp dysfunctional. Ha!”
I like this quote, because Katie, who is dreading spending Christmas with her mom and her mom’s new boyfriend, is taunting Alex, that with the bad weather, he might be stuck with her family.
Quote #2
“Oh shit!” Alex tried to scramble backward in his seat to avoid the dark, angry water engulfing his truck, but his seatbelt held him in place.
“The river is going to pull us in!” Katie yelled in panic.
Alex looked around frantically. The front end of the truck was clearly in the water. Would the whole truck slide in? Was Katie right, that the force of the strong current would pull them in further?
“We have to get out!” Katie nearly cried.
I love this quote because they are about to be swept into the river. Yikes!

Alex put his arm around Katie and pulled her close, physically holding her upright. She tucked her body into his, which helped block some of the wind. They trudged forward like dazed zombies through the deepening snow, praying for a break in the tree line that would indicate a driveway, and hopefully shelter.
This one is great because here are two total strangers stuck in a terrible situation and he’s taking care of her.

Ah, Alex is so noble. Even in a nightmare relationship with a girl who lied to him he stayed loyal.
About the author: Angie Stanton never planned on writing books, she wanted to be a Rockette. However, growing up in a rural setting with her brothers’ 4-H pigs as pets, dance didn’t work out. Instead she became an avid daydreamer. After years of perfecting stories in her head she began to write them down and the rest is history.
She loves dipping french fries in chocolate shakes, natural disaster movies and Broadway Musicals. When not writing, Angie is concocting ways to make more dreams come true, whether it be tickets to a Broadway show or convincing her family they should rent an RV and travel the country.
