Why did I pick this book:
I am participating in the blog tour for book #2, Manipulationhosted by YA BoundI wanted to read book #1 first. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)

Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy this book. I read it every free chance I had. I found Insight to be exciting and different.

I would not want to be Micah. I cannot imagine having to go through what she goes through every time she touches someone. That would be so difficult, especially when she didn’t know what she was seeing – whether it was a current event, something from the person’s past, or something that was going to occur in the future. Once she figured out what she was seeing, I couldn’t imagine having to try to decipher what she should do about it, if anything. She tried to deal with it by being distant and invisible. But that didn’t work out so well at her new school.

Landon was a sweet kid who was not your stereotypical rich kid/son of a senator. He seemed to truly care about his friends and the people around him. His interest in Micah was genuine and their love came easily. I liked Landon. He was a great character.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what the visions meant, what the shadows were, and what Micah and Landon were going to do going forward. I couldn’t figure out where the story was going, especially once the connection between Micah and Landon took off. Then, the connection to the Bahamian legend became apparent. All-in-all, Insight was a good read.

Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book. It was fast and exciting read.

Will I read it again: I will not.

About the book – from Goodreads:
Micah hates her ability to “see” things when she touches people. She’s terrified of relationships, holds on to guilt over the death of her classmate, Lacey, and has no idea what to do with a vision from Landon, a boy from her school. She feels him falling for her, but Micah doesn’t do friends, much less relationships.

Enter a spooky history project about a tragedy from three hundred years ago, and voodoo dolls that Micah somehow feels has to do with her gift. Suddenly she’s sure the shadows in the woods are following her every move—without Landon’s relaxed attitude about what’s happening in her life, Micah would be sure she’s going crazy.

With no ideas on timing or specifics, the visions of both herself and the people she cares about are turning dark—and it appears the shadows around her house do move on their own. But as Micah and Landon try to prevent Micah’s visions of the future, the shadows close in, and they’re now afraid they’ve become the cause…

Micah’s story is the first of three girls, with unique talents, who are part of a 300 year old tragedy that follows them in the shadows.

Happy reading wherever you are and whenever you get a free chance!!!
