Why did I pick this book: I was asked by the author to review her book. I happily accepted her request. I had previously read book #1 in this series, Caterpillar, and I was anxiously awaiting this installment. See my review here. (I received a copy of this book for review purposes.)
Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy this book. I read it every free chance I had and once I hit the last quarter of the book, I could not put my Nook down!
Cocoon was a good sequel to Caterpillar. I did find some parts, particularly the beginning, to be kind of slow. But the end had a lot of action and has me on the edge of my seat to read the final book in this series. I cannot wait to see what decision Cara makes.
Sometimes I felt that Cara and Will’s relationship was too intense given Cara’s age and their unique circumstances. They are clearly in love but it was a bit too much for me. Their love and attachment just doesn’t feel right to me in this book. There is a definite change from the first book, in my opinion. I did like that Cara does have doubts and starts to question things…especially considering what she would have to give up.
The introduction of James was intriguing. I am wondering what will come of that relationship in the third book. And Liv is just as great in this book as she was in the first. (I’m not going to give anything away…but Oh, Liv!)
Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book. If you haven’t already, be sure to read book #1, Caterpillar.
Will I read it again: I will not read this book again but I cannot wait to read book #3 in The Metamorphosis Trilogy. I hope I don’t have to wait too long to see how this story ends!!!
