Shaman, Friend, Enemy by M. Terry Green

Shaman, Friend, Enemy (An Olivia Lawson Techno-Shaman Novel, Book 2)
written by M. Terry Green

Why did I pick this book: The author asked me to review this book and I gladly accepted her request. (The author provided me with a copy of this book for review purposes.)

Did I enjoy this book: I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it as much as the first book, Shaman, Healer, Heretic. I read every free chance I had! As with the first book in this series, I was hooked from the very beginning. The book didn’t let me go until the very end.

This was an interesting sequel and an unexpected story line.  I found the mother’s story fascinating and it was not at all what I thought it would be. And the end!!! Again, totally unexpected. I love it when a book surprises me and I can’t figure it out.

We were introduced to some new characters in this book. Most of them were Haitian refugees. The Haitian shamans were quite different from the shamans we were introduced to in the first book. Dominique was such a bitch! She was greedy and downright mean. She was a great character and an interesting adversary for Livvy.

And Livvy and SK…SK and Livvy….all I can say is . You’ll understand when you read the book.

Would I recommend it: I would recommend this book especially if you have read the first book in this series, Shaman, Healer, Heretic. (Definitely read the first book before you read this one…it contains some much needed information for this book.)

Will I read it again: Probably not…but I will read more books in this series (if there are more and I hope there are!) and more books by this author.

About the book – the official blurb: Patients with fractured souls, clients threatened by deadly ancestor spirits, and now the paparazzi–it’s all in a day’s work for techno-shaman Olivia Lawson. Livvy has rocketed to the top of the shaman world, bringing old friends with her but also attracting new enemies.

Even as her career soars, her personal life spirals downward. Broken bonds and lost love finally force her to confront the terrible secret of her beginning in shamanism. Despite being attacked by dark shamans and navigating a spiritual plane that seems out of control, Livvy’s single-minded quest steers her into dangerous territory and puts her on a collision course with those dearest to her.

No longer interested in walking a fine line, Livvy discovers that–when the one thing you need is the one thing you can’t have–you’ll risk everything.

Happy reading wherever you are and whenever you get a free chance!!!
